Pool Operation Management has been teaching the Pool & Hot tub Alliance`s Certified Pool Operator course since 1988. This certification is required for pool operators in the State of New Jersey per the New Jersey State Bathing Code. It is a 2-day virtual class that runs 8:30 am - 5 pm both days. The topics covered include state and federal regulations, liability and risk management, filtration systems and recirculation, pool chemistry and calculations, water sanitizing and testing, maintenance and troubleshooting, management and personnel, spas, seasonal pools and energy conservation. The first day is classroom instruction and the second day includes classroom instruction, review and the exam. It is a 3-hour exam, open book-open note. You need a 75 percent to pass. Once you pass, you will receive a national certification in 2-4 weeks. It is valid for five years.
