Community health needs assessments (CHNAs) are a key component of national accreditation for local health departments and the Affordable Care Act has made CHNAs a requirement for non-profit hospitals. This live panel discussion webcast will cover the health system, local health department, and non-profit perspectives on strategies for successful partnering in these efforts, and how the public health nurse fits in.

Objectives:

-Describe the reasons for conducting community health needs assessments (CHNAs) from the health system and local public health perspectives.

-Identify strategies for successful partnerships between cross-sector partners when conducting CHNAs.

-Recognize potential roles for the public health nurse within the CHNA process.
